Susan Ayarbe, Ph.D. is a Nevada Licensed Psychologist specializing in the neuropsychological assessment of children and adolescents. Dr. Ayarbe received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Nevada in 1988, after earning her Master's in Education in Administration (1982) and Bachelor of Science in Special Education (1976). Following the completion of her predoctoral internship at the Denver Veteran's Administration Medical Center, Dr. Ayarbe obtained advanced training in neuropsychology during her postdoctoral work at Spalding Rehabilitation Hospital and the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center in Denver, Colorado, holding positions as a neuropsychologist and research associate.

In addition to her work as a neuropsychologist, Dr. Ayarbe served as a consultant to multiple national and international companies, including General Electric, Hewlett Packard, and HSBC. Her corporate consulting work focused primarily on process improvement, strategic planning, executive coaching, and change management.

In 2004, Dr. Ayarbe returned to her original focus of working with children, opening a full-time practice in the neuropsychological assessment of children and adolescents. Alongside her practice, she provided consultative services to school districts and concussion management consulting to local youth athletic organizations.

A note to Dr. Ayarbe's clients and colleagues:

Dr. Ayarbe closed her practice as of July 24, 2026, after many years dedicated to serving children, adolescents, and their families throughout the community. It was her honor and privilege to work with each family and support their children's growth and development.

For those who require future neuropsychological evaluations or related support, Dr. Ayarbe recommends, without reservation, her trusted colleagues Dr. Melanie Crawford and Dr. Elysse Kompaniez-Dunigan at Theory & Practice (775.786.7881).

If you need copies of your child's medical records, or would like them forwarded to a new provider, please contact Theory & Practice, where their clinic coordinator will be happy to assist you.

Thank you to all who allowed Dr. Ayarbe to be part of your child's journey. She wishes you all the best.
